The Blade Show: a key event
Over 700 participants
Every year the Blade Show attracts the greatest names in the cutlery field as well as artisan cutlers from around the world. This year the show will feature approximately 700 exhibitors that will showcase an impressive array of knives from around the world. Passionate individuals who have honed their skills to perfection created these collections.
A growing reputation
Ever since its creation in 1982, The Blade Show has enjoyed a growing international reputation. The Blade Show is sponsored by Blade Magazine and has changed names several times. The following is a short overview of the Blade Show’s history and name changes:
1982: The cutlery fair was called The American Blade Convention and Show and took place in Cincinnati, Ohio.
1983: The name changed to The American Blade Collector’s Show.
1984: The name changed to The Blade Super Show. In 1986, the show relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee.
1988: The name changed to The Blade Show & Cutlery Fair. Finally, the event became known as The Blade Show. In 1993 the show moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
Several workshops spanning 3 days teaching the basics of knife manufacturing
From Thursday, June 2 – Saturday, June 4 The Blade Show will be offering classes aimed at educating visitors about the cutlery field and how to create knives. Thursday is set aside for classes only. Thursday’s class, Knives the ABS Way, a multi-class option is $100.
All other classes taking place Friday and Saturday cost $25 each.
