The 420-grade steel used to create its 10 cm (approx. 4 in) blade is made of iron, carbon, silicon, manganese and chrome. The blade is made up of 14% chrome, meeting standards for high-end blades which are made from completely non-oxidizing or stainless materials. Traditionally a blade can be called stainless when a minimum of 13% chrome is present in its alloy.
